About This Program
Build backend services in Rust and add practical AI features through a focused 3-month engineering program. Start with ownership, borrowing, traits and error handling, then develop asynchronous HTTP APIs, connect PostgreSQL and implement authentication and authorization. Integrate LLM APIs through Rust HTTP clients, stream responses, validate structured output and build semantic search over application documents. Learn to evaluate AI responses, enforce access controls, handle provider failures and track latency and cost. AI-assisted development is part of the workflow: review generated code, verify dependencies and test behavior before accepting changes. Finish with a deployed Rust backend that supports an AI assistant grounded in authorized application data. Your capstone includes automated tests, evaluation cases, API documentation and an operational runbook for portfolio and interview discussions.
What you'll be able to do
- Build asynchronous Rust APIs with explicit error handling and validated requests
- Model data in PostgreSQL and implement migrations and reliable queries
- Add authentication, authorization and secure configuration to backend services
- Integrate LLM APIs with streaming, timeouts, retries and usage controls
- Implement semantic search and retrieval over authorized application data
- Evaluate AI output and test service behavior under failures
- Deploy a containerized Rust backend with logging, health checks and a portfolio case study
Who this is for
- Backend developers who want to build Rust services with AI features
- Developers with programming experience moving into Rust and applied AI engineering

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know Rust before joining?
No. The program begins with Rust foundations, but you should already be comfortable programming and understand basic HTTP APIs, JSON and databases.
What does AI mean in this Rust program?
You will add AI features to Rust backend services using LLM and embedding APIs, semantic search and retrieval over application data. You will also learn to review and test code produced by AI coding assistants.
How long is the program?
The program runs for 3 months, with a curriculum organized into 12 teaching weeks. Contact admissions for batch dates, class timings and fees.
Are external AI services required?
Some labs integrate external LLM and embedding APIs. Access arrangements and any provider or hosting costs should be confirmed with admissions before enrollment; API credentials are handled through secure configuration.
What will my capstone include?
A deployed Rust backend with PostgreSQL, authenticated access and an AI document assistant, supported by automated tests, evaluation cases, API documentation and a deployment runbook.
Does the program guarantee a job?
No. The program includes portfolio review and mock interviews, with a capstone you can use to demonstrate your skills.
